Model Introduction
For a number of years the Four Winns' 378 Vista, the builder's flagship cruiser, has had the distinction of being one of the best-riding offshore express cruisers being built. The 378 Vista rides on a pilot boat-proven hull design by C. Raymond Hunt and Associates. For the owner who gets out on the water on a regular basis, this gives the well-running 378 Vista express cruiser a leg up on many of its competitors. In addition, the 378 has a solid value proposition.

Construction
The Four Winns 378 Vista is conventionally and solidly built. The fiberglass hull starts with a skin coat of vinylester resin sprayed on the gelcoat, followed by a 3-oz. layer of chopped strand mat (CSM) to ward off blistering. A DCPD blend follows in the rest of the laminate of CSM and 24 oz. woven roving. Hull sides and decks are cored with endgrain balsa for added stiffness at light weight. Stringers and bulkheads are pressure-treated plywood encapsulated in knitted fiberglass. The hull-to-deck joint is secured with self-tapping screws driven into a plywood backing strip and sealed with caulking. ...
