Sharp expanded its lineup of professional LCD displays with the addition of two monitors that represent upgrades to two of its PN series monitors. The PN-S525, designed for extended use in landscape and portrait mode, replaces its predecessor model, the PN-S655; while the PN-S655, designed for extended use in landscape mode only, replaces the PN-G655U.

The models reportedly offer high image quality and performance, as well as a new LCD component panel for improved resistance to image retention and additional HDMI and RJ-45 LAN inputs for advanced connectivity and networking capability.

Additionally, the PN-S525P and PN-S655P have an integrated protective acrylic overlay for high-traffic areas.

"With the added connectivity options, these LCD monitors can receive the most accurate 1080p signals for precise image reproduction," said Dan Wynne, senior director of marketing for Sharp's professional display division, in a statement. "The added LAN connection enables quick remote diagnostics--minimizing downtime, expediting maintenance, and providing a more reliable display for a wide range of commercial applications."

The PN-S525 is a 52-inch class monitor designed for digital signage and display applications in landscape and portrait modes. The 2-megapixel HD monitor uses Sharp's Advanced Super View (AVS)/Black TFT panel for high image quality and a contrast ratio of 1,800:1.
